Aldi<\/a> is bringing back its popular wooden toy range next month \u2014 and after customers cleared local supermarkets<\/a> in record time last October, it\u2019s expected to be a sellout hit once more.<\/p>\n

The budget retailer confirmed the returning collection<\/a> will land in stores on Sunday May 17, as part of its Specialbuys line-up.<\/p>\n

Shoppers can expect garden toys galore, with the selection featuring a new mini BBQ, complete with the essential BBQing tools and grill hood, a covered sandpit, an outdoor easel and a messy play picnic bench, along with roleplay accessory sets priced from \u00a39.99.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the \u00a334.99 mud kitchen, featuring a bread oven, washing up rack, double burner stove\u00a0top\u00a0and utensil holders, that\u2019s likely to have most parents scrambling to the middle aisle though.<\/p>\n

Last time around, it was a standout favourite, to the point some queued up well before opening time to secure their sets.<\/p>\n

On social media<\/a>, users shared clips of crowded stores and trolleys piled high, describing the frenzy as \u2018madness\u2019 and \u2018carnage\u2019. <\/p>\n

TikTok<\/a> was also inundated with \u2018haul\u2019 videos from those lucky enough to get their hands on the most sought-after pieces, while those who lost out asked people in other areas to grab what was in stock and post across the country.<\/p>\n

Abi Fincham, who spent \u00a3270 in the October drop, said the hour queue she faced was well \u2018worth it\u2019, urging people to \u2018run don\u2019t walk\u2019 to their local Aldi.<\/p>\n

\u2018Got there at 8.10am, all the mums fighting, grabbed some wooden food and left,\u2019 commented Lucas, while Charlotte Baines wrote: \u2018Been to two Aldis to get a kitchen but they didn\u2019t have any left.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Such good value for the money, we have lots from last year and they\u2019ve been played with lots and still in amazing condition,\u2019 added Ria. \u2018Had to be done.\u2019<\/p>\n

Announcing news of this upcoming drop, Aldi urged shoppers to be quick on the uptake when the toys hit shelves \u2014 as like all Specialbuys, once they\u2019re gone, they\u2019re gone.<\/p>\n

The supermarket also revealed it\u2019d be using the launch to hunt for its first ever wooden toy<\/a> tester, with children aged three and above invited to apply. <\/p>\n

In return for giving feedback on performance and fun factor, the successful applicant will receive a selection of Aldi\u2019s summer wooden toy range for free.<\/p>\n

To enter, parents or carers need to send a one-minute video to woodentoytester@aldi.co.uk, including their child\u2019s name, age, location, why they\u2019d be perfect for the role, and what make-believe meal they\u2019d whip up in their very own play kitchen.<\/p>\n

But if you want to be in with a chance, you\u2019ll need to be quick, as the competition closes on May 5.<\/p>\n
