Instead of leaning into cycling history, Uno-X Mobility has opted for a stark, modern aesthetic for this year’s edition of La Doyenne. The team will be racing in a special kit that is black from head to toe. “You won’t see it coming,” that is how they announced it on social media.

The traditional bright yellow band that normally wraps around the chest of their standard jerseys has been replaced with a dark gray stripe. The only real contrast on the new outfits will come from the various sponsor logos printed on the fabric. It is a massive departure from the highly visible and colorful kits the Norwegian squad usually wears throughout the regular season.

The team’s equipment sponsors have also joined in on the theme to complete the stealth look. Bike manufacturer Ridley has provided the riders with special all-black editions of their racing frames to match the new dark clothing. The complete package offers what is being described as a futuristic twist on the team’s normally vibrant identity.

On the racing side of things, both the men’s and women’s squads are ready to tackle the grueling Ardennes course. The men’s team will be led by Tobias Johannessen, who takes the start line as their designated captain. He will be supported by experienced riders such as Magnus Cort Nielsen, Andreas Leknessund and his twin brother Anders Johannessen. Meanwhile, the women’s team will look to Katrine Aalerud for a strong result.

Cycling fans widely praised the throwback design, but the team has decided not to repeat the vintage look…

[4104
257911,4230,16149,242284,79,257910,16,15,190274
0":"post-919469","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-cycling","8":"tag-anders-johannessen","9":"tag-cycling","10":"tag-liege-bastogne-liege","11":"tag-magnus-cort-nielsen","12":"tag-sports","13":"tag-tobias-johannessen","14":"tag-uk","15":"tag-united-kingdom","16":"tag-uno-x-mobility
["GET
