{"id":922201,"date":"2026-04-27T16:40:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T16:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/922201\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T16:40:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T16:40:16","slug":"monsanto-with-jonathan-bailey-laura-dern-heads-to-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/922201\/","title":{"rendered":"Monsanto\u2019 With Jonathan Bailey &#038; Laura Dern Heads To Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/john-lee-hancock\/\" id=\"auto-tag_john-lee-hancock\" data-tag=\"john-lee-hancock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Lee Hancock<\/a> is gearing up for the shoot of courtroom drama <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/monsanto\/\" id=\"auto-tag_monsanto\" data-tag=\"monsanto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Monsanto<\/a> starring with <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jonathan-bailey\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jonathan-bailey\" data-tag=\"jonathan-bailey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonathan Bailey<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/laura-dern\/\" id=\"auto-tag_laura-dern\" data-tag=\"laura-dern\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laura Dern<\/a> in Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe drama revisiting the real-life legal battle against chemical giant Monsanto will star Bailey as attorney Brent Wisner who led a lawsuit against the US company Monsanto alleging that its Roundup herbicide product caused cancer. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDern plays Monsanto\u2019s chief toxicologist, who testifies during the trial that Roundup is safe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNews of the German shoot came to light after Bavaria\u2019s regional film fund FFF Bayern announced it was supporting the Netflix international co-production to the tune of 500,000 euros ($589,000).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA large part of the filming will take place in Bavaria, and the FFF Film Commission supported the crew in their search for locations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHancock wrote the screenplay with Michael Wisner, Alexandra Duparc and Ned Benson. John Schwartzman is attached as cinematographer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMunich-based company KrautPack Entertainment is producing from the German side, while the American co-production partner is Onda Entertainment, based in Los Angeles.
