The exhibition continues until the end of this week.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday 28th April | 10am-2pm<br \/>Thursday 30th April| 10am-2pm<br \/>Saturday 2nd May | 10am-2pm<br \/>Sunday 3rd May | 10am-2pm<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-170948\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG_5943.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"  \/>Electronic music performance at opening night for Tensile Strength exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-170951\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/H-S-M-City-Eden-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Lane Shipsey is an Artist working primarily in the field of photography and collage. Her photographic mini-series \u2018Constitutional\u2019 was published as an Open Eye Story, a project of the Open Eye Gallery. (Liverpool, UK, 2022). Shipsey\u2019s solo exhibition \u2018Abhaile | Homing\u2019 (Belfast, UK, 2023), is a series combining photographs of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland; it explored mixed feelings on the meaning of nationhood a century on from Irish independence. In 2026 Lane is working on a\u00a0 number of new projects, among them a solo exhibition HARD SHOULDER Motorway City at BasementArtsProject, UK (20 May-21 June).<\/p>\n<p>Hard Shoulder Motorway City is an exhibition of photography conceived\u00a0 and created by Lane Shipsey and curated in collaboration with Bruce Davies of BasementArtsProject. The project has two strands; one exploring the urban landscapes of South Leeds and the other its inhabitants.<br \/>\nThe exhibition explores the impact of the once \u2018futuristic\u2019 planning policies of the 1970\u2019s, how they are experienced by the community of those who live and work in the area, and how those policies have been altered over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Come an be a part of the ever growing South Leeds art scene by joining us for this new exhibition at BasementArtsProject. 28 Back Burton Terrace.
