\n\tWill lightning strike a fourth time for Colleen Hoover?<\/p>\n
\n\tAmazon MGM has released the trailer for the twisted thriller \u201cVerity<\/a>,\u201d the author\u2019s fourth novel to get the big screen treatment in two years. Hoover\u2019s three prior films, \u201cIt Ends With Us,\u201d \u201cReminders of Him\u201d and \u201cRegretting You,\u201d all scored at the box office. \u201cVerity\u201d opens in theaters on Oct. 2. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cVerity\u201d stars Dakota Johnson<\/a> as Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling novelist who gets hired to finish the latest book from best-selling author Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway<\/a>, after an accident leaves her unable to complete it. As Lowen works to complete the project, she discovers a disturbing unfinished manuscript that raises questions about Verity\u2019s mental stability. Josh Hartnett, Brady Wagner, Asel Swango and Daniel Echevarria round out the cast.<\/p>\n \n\tIn the official teaser, Lowen is slinking around the Crawford family house wearing a silk robe while Verity is fast asleep in bed. With Verity essentially bed-ridden, her husband Jeremy strikes up a romance with Lowen. But as the two lock lips, Lowen notices blood on mouth and she realizes that something even more sinister is happening. It\u2019s not Jeremy she\u2019s kissing, but Verity. Lowen leans back and shrieks in sheer horror.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cDarkness ahead,\u201d Verity hints in the two-minute-long teaser.<\/p>\n \n\tThis year marks Amazon MGM\u2019s first with a full theatrical slate. After missing the mark with January and February\u2019s \u201cMercy,\u201d \u201cCrime 101\u201d and \u201cMelania,\u201d the studio has been enjoying a much-needed box office win with \u201cProject Hail Mary,\u201d which has grossed $600 million worldwide so far. \u201cVerity\u201d seems poised to score, given Hoover\u2019s promising box office track record.
