But, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/news\/get-to-know-phil-parkinson-the-efl-veteran-who-has-helped-guide-wrexham-to-stardom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phil Parkinson\u2019s<\/a> men still managed to swoop into second place and secure automatic promotion to the Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Buoyed by that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/news\/wrexhams-astonishing-promotion-achievement-is-an-efl-first-but-theyre-not-the-only-club-to-go-back-to-back-to-back\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">historic third-successive promotion<\/a>, Wrexham now need to build a squad capable of competing in the second tier next season, but Birmingham may look to stifle those efforts.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"668\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2170981034-3-1024x668.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Visionhaus\/Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-31289\" \/>Photo by Visionhaus\/Getty ImagesWrexham and Birmingham City both chasing Harry Darling<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest round of reports from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/birmingham-want-128599219?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&amp;utm_source=copyLink&amp;utm_campaign=postshare_fan&amp;utm_content=web_share\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alan Nixon on Patreon<\/a>, Wrexham have hopes of snapping up centre-half Harry Darling from Welsh rivals Swansea City in the summer.
