Adams (The Witcher) are starring in the indie psychological horror film <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/sweetie\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sweetie\" data-tag=\"sweetie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sweetie<\/a>, which just wrapped production in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSweetie, which marks the sophomore feature for writer-director <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/robert-lang\/\" id=\"auto-tag_robert-lang\" data-tag=\"robert-lang\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Robert Lang<\/a>, follows a young woman named Sweetie (Bergland) on a disorienting descent into the heart of Hollywood\u2019s dark promise, driven by a yearning for fame and meaning. But the city, which is on edge with a serial killer on the loose, reveals itself as a shifting dreamscape that blurs the line between performance and identity. In the end, fame is offered to her not as a reward but as a total, consuming and irreversible transformation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMonroe plays rising drag queen Choker Darling. Conr Kinman, David Todman, Hannah McBride, Kris Alexandrea, Ianthe Mellors, Shaina Rae, Matthew Brown, Anna Newell and Conor Copley round out the cast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLang, who is also Deadline\u2019s photo editor and Arts &amp; Culture writer, is producing under his banner Monkeys Wedding Productions alongside Marshall Arts Media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSweetie\u00a0serves as the follow-up to Lang\u2019s feature directorial debut, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/video\/mind-body-and-soul-mockumentary-trailer-release-date-robert-lang\/\" data-type=\"pmc_top_video\" data-id=\"1235866417\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the 2024 indie mockumentary\u00a0Mind, Body and Soul<\/a>, which starred Kinman, Bergland and Eric Wu and notably secured an endorsement from the Satanic Temple.
