Royal author Ingrid Seward, who has written extensively about the monarchy and authored several royal books, including The Queen and Di, has shared a revealing comment made to her by Princess Diana<\/a> about the breakdown of her marriage to Prince Charles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ingrid had a close relationship with the late Princess and even spent time with her just weeks before her tragic death in 1997.<\/p>\n

Speaking on this week\u2019s episode of A Right Royal Podcast, she joins host Andrea Caamano and HELLO! royal editor Emily Nash to discuss the fallout from Prince Harry<\/a>\u2019s headline-making BBC interview, offering her perspective on what Diana might have thought of it, and highlighting the striking similarity between mother and son in their experiences with the royal household.<\/p>\n

Speaking about Diana\u2019s true thoughts on those working within the royal household \u2013 individuals Harry has also criticised in his memoir\u00a0Spare\u00a0and in last week\u2019s interview \u2013 Ingrid says: \u201cShe said to me just before she died, it wasn\u2019t Camilla. ‘It wasn\u2019t Camilla that ruined our marriage, it was the people around Charles.’\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cAnd I could never unpick that comment and quite understand what it meant. But I also remember Diana\u2019s father saying how tricky the royal household was. So, what I\u2019m trying to say is that Harry obviously has a point amid his morass of complaints. He does have some valid points, and I\u2019m riveted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ingrid then raises the question in the episode which you can listen to below: \u201cAre they just a load of overinflated egos in the royal household, or are they really trying to help?\u201d<\/p>\n
