Bristol City are said to be showing a ‘strong interest’ in Portsmouth manager John Mousinho as they look for a new permanent coach for the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n
Roy Hodgson is currently in temporary charge at Ashton Gate having replaced Gerhard Struber at the end of the March, but the 78-year-old will depart at the end of his short-term deal in the summer.<\/p>\n
Former Liverpool captain and ex-Rangers and Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard is one name who has been linked with taking the job in Bristol. But Pompey coach Mousinho following his success in steering them to Championship survival with two matches remaining is another name who has been linked.<\/p>\n

According to talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook in a recent post on X, Mousinho is a target for the Robins, as is former Nottingham Forest and Leicester City manager Steve Cooper.<\/p>\n
Crook wrote: “Bristol City<\/a> showing fresh interest in #Pompey boss John Mousinho. A test for the Eisners in the wake of his recent comments about spending bigger to avoid an annual struggle with relegation.
