{"id":927257,"date":"2026-04-29T22:30:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T22:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/927257\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T22:30:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T22:30:17","slug":"solar-panels-approved-for-historic-horsforth-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/927257\/","title":{"rendered":"Solar panels approved for historic Horsforth church"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><strong>By Don Mort<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/lnp\/ldrs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local democracy reporting service<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A historic church is set to cut its carbon emissions after permission was granted to install solar panels.<\/p>\n<p>Grade II-listed St James Church, on Low Lane in Horsforth, was given planning consent for the installation by Leeds City Council.<\/p>\n<p>A planning report said the scheme was part of plans by the Church of England to become \u201ccarbon net zero\u201d by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>No objections were raised against the planning application, which was supported by ward councillors and Horsforth Town Council.<\/p>\n<p>A nearby householder who backed the scheme wrote: \u201cLeeds City Council and the Church of England have targets to reduce their carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe panels will not have a significant impact on the appearance of the building.
