Leeds stalwart Patrick Bamford has dropped a major hint regarding his future after revealing his wife has green-lit one particular move.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 31-year-old<\/a> has been at Elland Road since 2018, but a mixture of fitness and form in recent years has seen his influence wane<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was a key part of the Leeds side under Marcelo Bielsa that returned to the Premier League<\/a> in 2020 following a 16-year absence.<\/p>\n

His stunning form continued in the top-flight, with 17 goals in 38 appearances, even earning him a senior England debut.<\/p>\n

However, injuries have hampered Bamford, and he hasn’t registered a double-digit goal return in any of the four seasons since.<\/p>\n

The now two-time Championship title-winner failed to score or register an assist in any of his 17 appearances for Leeds this term.<\/p>\n

Wrexham have been linked with a summer move for the striker following their promotion to the second division.<\/p>\n

Despite speculation over his future<\/a>, Bamford instead has insisted he is excited about returning to the Premier League next year.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0CBS Sports Golazo<\/a>: \u201cI think that obviously last time round it was so long since Leeds had been in the Premier League and everyone was desperate to keep us there for as long as possible.<\/p>\n

“I think now, especially with the ownership and the 49ers and the way they have kind of set things up, I think that they are giving it a little bit more stability this time around which obviously only bodes well for the club itself but also on a personal note I am excited to be back playing there.<\/p>\n

“I feel like almost playing in the Premier League suits me a little bit more and obviously last time around I did pretty well when I was there so I am hoping to kind of emulate that and try and do the same again.”<\/p>\n

Bamford did open up about the possibility of playing abroad in his career, having only played in the top three tiers of English football.<\/p>\n

He added: “I think it’s something that, obviously over time I\u2019ve spoke to Michaela [his wife] about it, in terms of playing abroad, and America being one of the options.<\/p>\n

“It was something that when I was younger, I always wanted to do at some point in my career, to kind of experience it, experience a new country, the living the lifestyle there and also trying myself in a new league.<\/p>\n

“I think once you have a family and a wife it\u2019s got to be run by them and to be fair they gave it the green light, and they said \u2018look, we\u2019re going to go with whatever\u2019s for you and whatever challenge you want to want to take\u2019, so it is something that I would be open to yeah, we just don\u2019t know when yet.”<\/p>\n

Bamford remains one of Leeds’ highest earners and still has one year left on his reported\u00a0\u00a370,000-per-week deal.<\/p>\n

The ex-Burnley forward was an unused substitute in 11 of his previous 19 appearances prior to Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Luton Town<\/a> in early April.<\/p>\n

He enjoyed a late flurry of cameo outings<\/a> from the bench to deputise for first-choice Joel Piroe as the Whites beat the Clarets to the title.<\/p>\n

Wrexham, meanwhile, have been linked with several number nines following their promotion<\/a>, including Leicester talisman Jamie Vardy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Phil Parkinson<\/a> did surprisingly claim that veteran Paul Mullin seems set to stay next season<\/a> despite losing his place in the squad.<\/p>\n

The\u00a030-year-old<\/a>\u00a0frontman has been the Red Dragons\u2019 leading star as they have risen up the EFL over the last few years.<\/p>\n

However, he has found it difficult in League One<\/a>,\u00a0struggling to make the team at all<\/a>\u00a0throughout the club\u2019s promotion-winning campaign.<\/p>\n

Mullin, who has scored 110 goals in 172 games for Wrexham, hasn\u2019t played a single league game since January, being left out by manager\u00a0Parkinson\u00a0on a regular basis.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s fallen out of favour while competing for a starting spot alongside \u00a32million signing Sam Smith and ex-Premier League forward\u00a0Jay Rodriguez<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
