While incidents are common, the severity of the outcome in this case only became clear in the hours and days that followed.<\/p>\n<p>Aasebo explained that the situation escalated rapidly after the initial impact. \u201cI also had surgery to fix fractures in my elbow and jaw, but thankfully all surgeries went well,\u201d she said, outlining the full extent of her injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Her recovery in France lasted around ten days, spent in Lille under specialist care. \u201cAfter ten slow days in Lille \u2013 but only five that I can remember \u2013 I\u2019m very happy to finally be back in Oslo at Ullev\u00e5l Hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Focus now on rehabilitation<\/p>\n<p>Now back in Norway, attention has shifted toward rehabilitation, particularly after the impact of the brain injury. \u201cRight now, the main focus is regaining movement in my right leg after the brain injury, and I\u2019m ready and excited to begin the road to recovery,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the seriousness of the injuries, Aasebo was careful to frame the incident with perspective. \u201cThe crash itself was not especially dramatic. I was simply very unlucky with the outcome. But once it became that serious, I\u2019ve also been very lucky with how well things have gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also took time to thank those involved in her care during the ordeal. \u201cI, and the Team, would like to thank all the staff at Roger Salengro Hospital and at Ullev\u00e5l Hospital in Oslo.
