Two Jewish men were stabbed in London on Wednesday by a knife-wielding terrorist \u2014 and an Iranian regime-backed group has claimed responsibility for the antisemitic attack\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cops later took down the obese knifeman to the ground and put in handcuffs by several police officers \u2014 with at least two seen\u00a0kicking him in the head<\/a>\u00a0as they tried to wrestle the knife away from him during a scuffle.<\/p>\n He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, London\u2019s Metropolitan Police said in a statement.<\/p>\n The\u00a0attack was officially declared a \u201cterrorist incident\u201d by the UK\u2019s Counter Terrorism Police.<\/p>\n Ashab al-Yamin claimed the attack was retribution for the passage of\u00a0an Israeli law that mandates the execution of Palestinians\u00a0<\/a>who are convicted of deadly terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n A chilling video shared on X appears to show the man suddenly attacking an elderly man at a bus stop.<\/p>\n \u201cIf the law allowing the execution of prisoners is not stopped, you will be executed in the streets,\u201d the group said in a statement shared on Telegram.<\/p>\n The group, which security experts say is a proxy for Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has targeted Jewish sites across Europe, recruiting local criminals for its attacks, according to security experts.<\/p>\n The Metropolitan Police on Wednesday\u00a0defended the actions of its officers after a Muslim activist, Ammar Kazmi, accused cops of going overboard in incapacitating the suspected terrorist.<\/p>\n \u201cOur brave officers confronted a man they believed to be a terrorist, who refused to show his hands, who was violent, and who continued to pose a clear threat,\u201d\u00a0the Metropolitan Police said in a statement on X<\/a>\u00a0in response to Kazmi\u2019s post.<\/p>\n The two men were seriously injured after the suspect went on the rampage in the Golders Green neighborhood in north London on Wednesday. This took true courage,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n The police were helped by Jewish volunteers from the neighborhood watch group Shomrim.<\/p>\n \u201cOne male was seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife and attempting to stab Jewish members of the public,\u201d a spokesperson for Shomrim said on social media.<\/p>\n \u201cShomrim responded immediately and detained the suspect. Police attended and deployed a taser. The male has now been arrested,\u201d the spokesperson continued.<\/p>\n The two victims were being treated by Hatzola, a Jewish volunteer ambulance service.
