Old No. 6 in Burslem<\/p>\n

A visitor centre for Lemmy and Mot\u00f6rhead fans opens in Stoke-on-Trent today. Old No. 6 – on Market Square, in Burslem<\/a> – opens to the public from midday on Friday 1 May.<\/p>\n

IFK Legacy is behind the venue which stocks Mot\u00f6rhead beers and a mini-museum. It comes as the Lemmy statue has had pride of place in Burslem for almost a year.<\/p>\n

In a social media post to fans, the venue stated: “Burslem is getting ready to rock as the Old No. 6 Lemmy visitor centre opens. The new venue includes a bar serving official Mot\u00f6rhead beers and \u2018Lemmy lemonade\u2019, alongside a mini-museum featuring Mot\u00f6rhead memorabilia and artwork.<\/p>\n

“Old No. 6 has been created by IFK Legacy to welcome visitors from around the world who come to see the Lemmy statue, explore Burslem, and discover more of Stoke-on-Trent. It will also help to raise funds for the Lemmy Project, including plans to transform the Grade-II listed Queen\u2019s Theatre into \u2018Kilmister Halls\u2019 \u2013 a 1,500 capacity music venue and cultural hub honouring the Mot\u00f6rhead frontman.”<\/p>\n

Mot\u00f6rhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister – the musician born Ian Fraser Kilmister in Burslem – joined the band Hawkwind in 1971, before forming Mot\u00f6rhead in 1975.<\/p>\n
