A witness appeal has been issued after the man in his 20s was found in the city centre<\/p>\n

Merseyside Police<\/a> are still trying to identify a man who died after being found in Liverpool city centre<\/a> this weekend. North West Ambulance Service<\/a> (NWAS) was called at around 4.35am on Saturday May 10 to reports a man had been found on Old Hall Street.<\/p>\n

He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later. A police cordon was put in place near to the entrance of the passport office <\/a>following the incident.<\/p>\n

Police say the man’s death is unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious. He is yet to be identified despite extensive enquiries.<\/p>\n

Officers have now released CCTV images of a possible witness they believe was with the man in the hours before he died, and might be able to help identify him.<\/a> Detective Chief Inspector Chris Saidi said: “Our work to identify the man who died continues, and I\u2019d urge the man pictured to come forward.<\/p>\n

“I want to make clear that we are treating him as a potential witness, as we believe that he was in company with the man in the area of Old Hall Street<\/a> earlier in the morning. He may well be able to help us identify the man.<\/p>\n

“Likewise, if you recognise this witness or were passing or live nearby and have any information, please let us know. We are also working to establish the cause of the man\u2019s death, but at this stage we do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances.”<\/p>\n
