The site, just off Ordsall Lane, could see 808 apartments spread across three new buildings, if plans are approved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">On the other side of the city-region, plans for a new special school are taking shape. In the unexpected location of a retail park in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/middleton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Middleton<\/a>, Meadows School wants to build a temporary base.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The building on Shakehill Industrial Estate would become their new home for the next 15 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Here is a breakdown of each borough\u2019s submitted planning applications this week<\/p>\n<p>Bury<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_stand-lane.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The former New Jerusalem church in Radcliffe<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Plans to convert former church within a graveyard into offices<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A disused church building could be converted into offices. Plans have been submitted to change the use of the former New Jerusalem Church, Stand Lane, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/radcliffe\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Radcliffe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A church and adjoining graveyard has stood on the site for centuries and the current building was constructed in the 1970s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A planning statement in support of the plans has been submitted by Cockwill &amp; Co Ltd on behalf of the applicant, Hotspot Heating Ltd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/news\/greater-manchester-news\/plans-convert-former-church-within-31585416\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Read more hereLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Read more here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rochdale<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1_Link-House-Finlan-Road-Middleton.jpg\" alt=\"Link House, Finlan Road, Middleton\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Link House, Finlan Road, Middleton(Image: Google Maps)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">New special needs school could be built on industrial estate in Greater Manchester town<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A new temporary special needs school could be built on an industrial estate in Middleton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Meadows School says their current site in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/rochdale\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Rochdale<\/a>, which caters for young people with educational, social, emotional, behavioural difficulties, is no longer fit for purpose. The Egerton House building, off Wardle Road, is too small and lacks outdoor space, according to the independent school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The new school would be created in Link House, off Finlan Road in the Shakehill Industrial Estate.
