Prince William has \u201cno incentive\u201d to speak to his brother Harry after his latest outburst as his taxpayer-funded security row ended in defeat.<\/p>\n
The Duke of Sussex<\/a> is \u201cfurther than ever\u201d from a reconciliation with the Royal Family<\/a> following his BBC<\/a> interview on Friday. Harry angered his family by speaking in a 30-minute televised chat from his California home following Friday’s judgement at the Court of Appeal. Royal sources say the King and Prince William<\/a> have \u201cno incentive\u201d to speak to the Duke, citing \u201ca major trust issue\u201d.<\/p>\n An insider said: \u201cThe Duke\u2019s latest decision to speak publicly about his family and the situation he finds himself in will only result in him being further than ever from the reconciliation he now says he wants.<\/p>\n \u201cAt its very heart, for the family there is a major trust issue when even thinking about speaking to him.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is certainly no incentive to do so when he is so free to openly criticise and only ever present one view, being his.\u201d<\/p>\n Senior members of the royal family appealed to Harry around the time of the late Queen\u2019s passing to row back on his public attacks on his family.<\/p>\n The royals, including Prince Anne, said they must stop if he ever wanted to regain trust and a relationship with the King and Prince of Wales.<\/p>\n One insider said: \u201cIt has been put to him that he should consider a different path from the one taken if he ever wanted to reconcile.\u201d<\/p>\n Sources said Harry\u2019s claims that \u201csome members of my family will never forgive\u201d him for writing his memoir \u2018Spare\u2019 may not have been the case.<\/p>\n Insiders suggest the Duke has \u201cextinguished\u201d his chance by continuing to hurt his father and brother.<\/p>\n The source said: \u201cThe King is a Christian and a good man. Forgiveness is central to that.<\/p>\n \u201cBut how can anyone forget the events of the past five years when they are repeated so often? The whole episode is as exhausting as it is sad.\u201d<\/p>\n The Duke said in his interview that he wanted to reconcile with the royals, alleging that his father is not currently speaking to him.<\/p>\n He also said he does not know how long the King has left to live as he continues his treatment for cancer.<\/p>\n Royal insiders said on Saturday that speculating about how long his father may have left to live was in poor taste.<\/p>\n One Palace source said: \u201cIf there were anxieties about things remaining private, Friday will not have done them the power of good.\u201d<\/p>\n They added that the outburst showed there is \u201cnothing that can be trusted to remain private\u201d.<\/p>\n Another said: \u201cFor a son who claims to want a reconciliation, it’s a curious way to build bridges.<\/p>\n \u201cHis beloved grandmother would have been horrified.<\/p>\n \u201cThe King is a kind man with a warm heart – and quite enough on his plate to deal with, without all this from his son.\u201d<\/p>\n Harry’s interview came just days before the nation joins in a show of unity to commemorate VE Day.<\/p>\n It was broadcast after he lost his legal challenge at the Court of Appeal over his UK security arrangements.<\/p>\n When Harry stepped back from Royal life in 2020, his security was downgraded.<\/p>\n It means he must give notice of UK visits so his security needs can be assessed each time.<\/p>\n He fears having to reveal his movements in advance leaves him more open to a planned attack.<\/p>\n In the interview Harry, 40, said: \u201cThere have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family.<\/p>\n \u201cOf course, they’ll never forgive me for lots of things but there’s no point in continuing to fight any more.<\/p>\n \u201cLife is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. It would be nice to reconcile.\u201d<\/p>\n A close friend of the King accused Harry of seeing conspiracies every time a decision did not go his way.<\/p>\n They told the Sunday Times: \u201cEven when he speaks of reconciliation, it\u2019s laced with threats and anger.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not that the King won\u2019t speak to him, it\u2019s that he can’t.<\/p>\n \u201cHow can you have a private and delicate conversation when you know it’s going to end up on a news special within hours?<\/p>\n \u201cPerhaps if he tried to earn, rather than demand, a reconciliation, things might go a little better.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"Prince](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1_Screenshot-2025-05-02-at-172413.jpg\")
