AEW\u2019s Rebel, Tanea Brooks, has revealed she has been diagnosed with terminal ALS. <\/p>\n

She posted a health update to social media on Friday announcing the diagnosis. <\/p>\n

Rebel says in the video<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, I want to say thank you for all your prayers, because for those who know, I spent a two-year medical journey trying to find out what is wrong.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And finally, our prayers have been answered.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The thing is, sometimes we don\u2019t want to hear the answer to our prayers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And so, while I was waiting to have lung surgery for the masses on my lungs, the doctors at Mayo found, finally found, what\u2019s going on.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The doctors have diagnosed me with terminal ALS. <\/strong><\/p>\n

There is not a lot of research behind ALS, and we don\u2019t know how long I have, but it explains why I have trouble walking and talking, and all my functions will soon decline. But now we can prepare for the future and what is to come. <\/strong><\/p>\n

And I wanna say thank you to Tony Khan and AEW for supporting me on this medical journey. It has been a blessing that is unheard of. And from the bottom of my heart, thank you. <\/strong><\/p>\n

And thank you to all of you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for a peaceful journey and a peaceful passing. I love you.<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis)<\/a> is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.<\/p>\n

Rebel has been dealing with health issues dating back to May 2024, when she was first hospitalized for a mass on her lung that was eventually determined to be pneumonia. In June 2025, she underwent surgery<\/a> to remove a tumor.<\/p>\n

In November 2025, Rebel shared<\/a> that she had been diagnosed with primary pulmonary lymphoma, a rare lymphoma involving the lungs. In February, Rebel revealed<\/a> she was in an inpatient rehabilitation program.<\/p>\n
