Mostyn McKenzie has confirmed the closure of its last store in Perth, Scotland.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-linkchecker-status=\"valid\">At the end of today, the store will shut permanently &#8211; leaving just hours for shoppers to grab a bargain. The store confirmed to The Sun that today will be its final day of in-store business. It was founded in 1966 and originally operated branches across the UK, including Edinburgh, Broughty Ferry, and Tenterden in <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/kent\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The shoe shop offers \u201ca comprehensive selection of brands such as Gabor, Rieker, Josef Seibel and many more and specialise in offering comfort, quality and style\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>All other Mostyn McKenzie stores have already closed. In 2023, the <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/finance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">business<\/a> even shut its flagship Aberdeen store.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to close was taken due to rising costs, said managing director Graeme McKenzie. Speaking to The Courier, he said: &#8220;High street <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/uk\/2197472\/russell-bromley-high-street-closures\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">retail<\/a> has become increasingly difficult.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cCosts have increased, shopping habits have changed, we\u2019re finding footfall in Perth has dropped considerably, and our costs have just increased.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the store had never really recovered from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/coronavirus\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Covid<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mostyn McKenzie launched a clearance sale on all online stock, with up to 70% off items.<\/p>\n<p>On its website, it says: &#8220;We are proud of the high standards of service we provide to our customers. Over the years we have built up a loyal customer base from all over Scotland and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Striving to provide quality, value for <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/finance\/personalfinance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">money<\/a>, comfort and style for our customers is our top priority. We hope you enjoy your experience with us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On its Facebook page, the most recent post is from January 16, when the brand announced the closure of its Broughty Ferry store.<\/p>\n<p>It reads: &#8220;Sadly after 25 years in Broughty Ferry Mostyn McKenzie is closing down, our last day being 31st January. Up until then we are having a massive sale with up to 50 % off all stock Literally everything must go!!! Come and browse for the last chance to grab yourself a bargain.
