A cyclist who was left critically injured following a hit-and-run in last week has tragically passed away.<\/p>\n

Thomas Brown, a 29 year old father described as the ‘kindest soul’, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, after the collision on Heath Way, Hodge Hill, on the evening of 26 April.<\/p>\n

Officers confirmed his death this week, with the driver still yet to be apprehended, reports Birmingham Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police have already seized a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident, with forensic examinations set to be carried out. Investigators are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may have spotted a black estate-type car that fled the scene at around 7.45pm, last seen heading towards Coleshill Road.<\/p>\n

Det Sgt Adam Alcock, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We have specialist officers supporting the man’s family during this very difficult time.”We’re appealing for people who may have information which can assist us to please get in touch.”Collisions on the road have devastating consequences and my priority is to get answers for his family.”<\/p>\n

“I know from CCTV that there were other cars and witnesses at the location at the time of the collision and I would appeal for those people to make contact with us.”<\/p>\n
