\n BBC bosses were reportedly made aware of the attack where the unnamed presenter grabbed the woman by the \u201cwrists, crossed them over one another and then threw her down to the floor\u201d but failed to take any disciplinary action or report it to the police, according to the Mail on Sunday.\n<\/p>\n

\n The presenter in question is reported to have continued to work for the broadcaster for several years afterwards.\n<\/p>\n

\n The alleged assault, which led to the woman needing treatment in hospital, is believed to have occurred around 2014.\n<\/p>\n

\n It is understood that chiefs at the BBC had questioned the presenter on a number of occasions to discuss his alleged behaviour.\n<\/p>\n

\n A source told the Mail on Sunday about the alleged altercation, saying: \u201cHe had taken her by the wrists, crossed them over one another and then threw her down to the floor.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cA doctor\u2019s report was filed, but nobody did anything about it.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt was a cover-up from the BBC.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n It was also reported the presenter in question had been arrested over an unconnected incident during his time at the broadcaster and was released without charge.\n<\/p>\n

\n BBC management allegedly decided not to fire the presenter, but instead, chose to give him what they believed were \u201cundesirable\u201d shifts in the hope he would leave.\n<\/p>\n

\n The source added: \u201cThe BBC could see where it was all going but they hoped he would leave of his own accord.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt was hardly decisive action. He ended up staying for years. The BBC was his shield because it gave him credibility.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n It is understood that the woman who was allegedly assaulted was called in on several occasions to discuss the presenter’s alleged workplace behaviour by bosses at the BBC.\n<\/p>\n

\n Other members of staff also came forward to report concerns to the BBC, it has been claimed.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n A spokesperson for the BBC said: “While we do not comment on individual employment matters, the BBC has robust processes in place to uphold our standards.”\n<\/p>\n
