Fire engines respond to alarm on Morrison Street<\/p>\n

Five fire engines rushed to a fire alarm on Morrison Street<\/a> this afternoon<\/p>\n

The fire alarm was received by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> just before 5pm on Sunday.<\/p>\n

And due to the nature of the buildings they immediately sent out four fire engines and an aerial appliance.<\/p>\n

It is understood firefighters were sent in to searching the buildings to discover the cause of the alarm. It was then discovered to have been a false alarm.<\/p>\n

The building houses a mix of offices and residential homes.<\/p>\n

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the response was appropriate given the nature of the multi-storey buildings.<\/p>\n

It is understood only two fire engines remained on the scene shortly after the call, with the area now cleared.<\/p>\n
