\n\tStuart Ford\u2019s AGC Studios<\/a> has come on board to handle worldwide sales on \u201cCritterz,\u201d an animated feature written by \u201cPaddington in Peru\u201d duo James Lamont and Jon Foster, and Tom Butterworth (\u201cBirthday Girl,\u201d \u201cThe Last Legion,\u201d \u201cAshes to Ashes\u201d). AGC Intl. will launch sales and screen first-look footage in Cannes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCritterz\u201d is the \u201cfirst mainstream commercial family feature film created with artificial intelligence integrated throughout the production pipeline,\u201d according to AGC.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe script is directed and produced by Nik Kleverov, co-founder of Native Foreign, with Chad Nelson, creative strategist at OpenAI, serving as a producer with Allan Niblo and James Richardson from Vertigo Films (part of Federation Studios). Pascal Breton, Lionel Uzan, Jane Moore, Ford and Aghi Koh are executive producers.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe feature is a full-length adaptation of the 2023 viral short \u201cCritterz,\u201d created by Nelson, which was the first to use OpenAI\u2019s cutting-edge creative tools.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCritterz\u201d follows an anxious but brave little woodland creature who unites with a group of eccentric outcasts \u2014 each with their own peculiar quirks and hidden strengths \u2014 on a high-stakes quest to find her long-lost brother.<\/p>\n

\n\tKleverov stated, \u201c \u2018Critterz\u2019 will be a timeless film \u2014 a world that feels truly its own. It will carry the wonder of the \u201880s fantasy movies I grew up on \u2014 the scrappy, adventurous spirit of \u2018The Goonies\u2019 and the mythic, emotional scope of \u2018The NeverEnding Story\u2026\u2019 combined with the scale of early \u2018Star Wars.\u2019 It\u2019s grounded in something deeply human: a fractured world finding its way back together. At the center is a character whose greatest power isn\u2019t force \u2014 it\u2019s believing in herself, and her family.\u201d<\/p>\n
