Bad news for players not charismatic enough to embody<\/a> protagonist James Bond: the upcoming 007 First Light<\/a> will last around 20 hours on a first playthrough, although there\u2019ll be plenty of replay value beyond that.<\/p>\n

Word comes by way of JorRaptor<\/a>, who got the playthrough estimate confirmed by the gameplay director at a recent hands-on event in London, which we were also lucky enough to attend<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting that this running time will depend heavily on your playstyle and approach; we suspect a more rigid, stealth-first mentality will ensure the campaign lasts longer than those who go in all guns blazing.<\/p>\n

This also doesn\u2019t account for the recently announced TacSim mode, which allows you to replay levels and extend your playthrough by exploring different opportunities, just like in the Hitman<\/a> games.<\/p>\n

Dev IO Interactive has also committed to long-tail, live service support for this title, so you can probably expect updates which shake up the formula.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been particularly good at adding new objectives and missions to the World of Assassination<\/a>, many featuring celebrities and famous faces. (Including Mads Mikkelsen\u2019s Le Chiffre from Casino Royale.)<\/p>\n

To be honest, 20 hours sounds like a very good length for a first playthrough, as that would put it in the same sort of territory as other longer third-person adventures, like Uncharted 4: A Thief\u2019s End<\/a>. Of course, this game does emphasise experimentation more than Naughty Dog\u2019s more authored effort.<\/p>\n

So far we know about several locations in the final campaign, including Slovakia, Iceland, Malta, and England. With just a few weeks to go until the final release, we can\u2019t wait to see which other countries this globe-hopping campaign will take us to.<\/p>\n
