SCOTT McTOMINAY produced a pair of assists but couldn’t prevent Napoli from stumbling in this thrilling race for the Serie A title.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Scotland<\/a> star landed his 15th goal contribution of a brilliant season when he slid a pass through for Romelu Lukaku<\/a> to open the scoring against Genoa.<\/p>\n

Napoli<\/a> were then left stunned when their visitors drew level through an unfortunate own goal.<\/p>\n

A stunning run and pass from McTominay midway through the second half teed up Giacomo Raspadori<\/a> to lash home what looked like being the winning goal.<\/p>\n

But Genoa stunned their hosts with a second equaliser six minutes from time.<\/p>\n

That leaves Napoli with just a ONE<\/strong> point lead over Inter at the top of the table heading into the final two matches of the season.<\/p>\n

If the teams finish the campaign level on points the title will be decided not on goal difference but by a play-off.<\/p>\n

But for now it is advantage Napoli \u2013 even if they did chuck away two points at home tonight despite McTominay’s best efforts.<\/p>\n

Champions League<\/a> finalists Inter had thrown down the gauntlet earlier in the day by winning 2-0 away to Che Adams\u2019 Torino.<\/p>\n

That drew them level with Napoli \u2013 but having played a game more \u2013 and challenged Antonio Conte\u2019s side to try move back ahead again.<\/p>\n

Serie A<\/a> Player of the Month<\/a> McTominay started in midfield, while Scotland team-mate Billy Gilmour<\/a> had to settle for a place on the bench.<\/p>\n

The former Chelsea<\/a> ace, though, was summoned after just 13 minutes when Stanislav Lobotka picked up an injury and couldn\u2019t continue.<\/p>\n

Making his Serie A debut in goals for Genoa was Benjamin Siegrist<\/a>, the goalkeeper formerly on the books of Dundee United and Celtic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And the Swiss was soon picking the ball out of his net after a brilliant McTominay ball played in Lukaku who finished well to give Napoli the lead.<\/p>\n

Genoa, though, seemed determined to make it difficult for them and Andrea Pinamonti<\/a> had the home fans worried with a header that struck the crossbar.<\/p>\n

And it got even worse when their visitors drew level after a header from Honest Ahanor was turned into his own net by the unfortunate Napoli goalkeeper, Alex Meret<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That left the home fans inside the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona worried.<\/p>\n

McTominay delivered again with another perfect assist that looked to have taken Napoli within touching distance of the Scudetto.<\/p>\n

But the last word went to Genoa when a header from Johan Vasquez found the net late on to earn his team a point – and break Napoli hearts.<\/p>\n
