overhead.<\/p>\n<p>The Eta Aquariid meteor shower will peak in the early hours of Wednesday, offering skywatchers the best chance to catch the celestial display between midnight and sunrise.<\/p>\n<p>Britons hoping to witness the annual spectacle are being urged to head away from streetlights and artificial light for the clearest possible view.<\/p>\n<p>Royal Museums Greenwich said the shower will remain active until May 28, giving stargazers an extended window to spot the phenomenon.<\/p>\n<p>The Eta Aquariids are caused by debris left behind by Halley\u2019s Comet &#8211; the famous celestial body that passes through the inner solar system roughly every 76 years.<\/p>\n<p>Although Halley\u2019s Comet last passed Earth in 1986, it continues to leave trails of cosmic dust that create stunning displays when Earth crosses its path.<\/p>\n<p>As these tiny fragments &#8211; Royal Museums Greenwich said.<\/p>\n<p>No special equipment is required, though allowing your eyes time to adjust to the darkness will improve your chances.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You&#8217;re looking for bright streaks that appear in the corner of your eye for a fraction of a second,&#8221;
