That being said, almost every F1 driver to phase out of the sport in the past several years has been linked to the seat at one time or another during the team\u2019s entry process.<\/p>\n<p>But four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel has one specific person in mind that he\u2019d like to see\u00a0 in that seat.<\/p>\n<p>More on Cadillac F1:<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/cadillac-f1-american-dream-graeme-lowdon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How Cadillac aims to finally embody the \u2018American dream\u2019 in F1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/good-cake-convinced-graeme-lowdon-to-join-the-cadillac-f1-team\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How \u2018a good cake\u2019 convinced ex-Manor boss to join the Cadillac F1 team<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <strong>Sport.de<\/strong>, Vettel shared his hope that we\u2019ll see Mick Schumacher take over at Cadillac.<\/p>\n<p>Schumacher, Vettel said, is at \u201ca completely different stage\u201d in his career now when compared to his previous F1 outing with Haas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is much more mature,\u201d the champion explained. \u201cAnd I think he\u2019s doing a very good job at Alpine in the World Endurance Championship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be nice if he gets a second chance in the Cadillac.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rumours about a potential Schumacher signing to Cadillac really picked up speed during the Miami Grand Prix, and indeed, PlanetF1.com spotted the racer paying a visit to the team\u2019s official \u201claunch\u201d party at Queen in Miami Beach. (It is also worth noting that personnel from rival teams also attended the event.)<\/p>\n<p>While Vettel feels Schumacher is now more mature, he also highlighted the fact that the young driver \u201cdidn\u2019t feel so comfortable\u201d with Haas, which proved to be something of a disaster.<\/p>\n<p>In two years with the team, Schumacher only managed to score a total of 12 points, taking a best finish of sixth place at the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix. At the end of that season, Haas opted to replace the German.<\/p>\n<p>But Vettel believes Schumacher should be afforded a second chance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish him the best,\u201d the retired driver told Sport.de.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are obviously in contact and I also heard how things ended for him in Formula 1.
