\n\tUniversal Pictures has dropped a new trailer for its upcoming The Odyssey<\/a> adaptation from director Christopher Nolan<\/a>. The trailer was unveiled on Monday night\u2019s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe pic stars Matt Damon<\/a> as Odysseus. The all-star cast includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong\u2019o, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal and John Leguizamo.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the trailer we see a much broader scope of Nolan\u2019s adaptation of Homer\u2019s epic, featuring our first looks at Theron as Circe and Pattinson as Antinous as he tries to take the kingdom of Ithaca from Odysseus. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe footage reveals the story\u2019s iconic Cyclops, who seems to already be holding one of Odysseus\u2019 soldiers in his grip. The trailer also shows more carnage from the battle of Troy as well as what appears to be a battle with the Laestrygonians, a cannibalistic race of giants. <\/p>\n

\n\tNolan wrote the screenplay based on the ancient poem and produced it alongside Emma Thomas under their Syncopy banner. Universal Pictures is distributing the film.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe epic from the Oscar-winning\u00a0Oppenheimer\u00a0filmmaker was shot using new Imax technology and comes out on July 17, 2026 in theaters.<\/p>\n
