ecGikU\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The British <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/high-street\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">high street<\/a> continues to struggle in 2026, with a number of major <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/retailers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">retailers<\/a> closing stores for good.<\/p>\n<p>Rising costs, shoppers moving online and increases to National Insurance contributions and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/minimum-wage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the minimum wage<\/a> have meant several staples of the high street are suffering.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/news\/london\/franco-manca-london-restaurant-closures-full-list-b1281139.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pizzeria chain Franco Manca<\/a> confirmed on Tuesday that they will push ahead with the closure of 16 of its restaurants, including nine in London. <\/p>\n<p>The Standard has compiled a full list of announced upcoming closures in London in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, parent firm The Fulham Shore said it planned to shut a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/franco-manca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Franco Manca<\/a> sites as part of a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) process, which will also hit around 225 jobs. <\/p>\n<p>Now the closures will go ahead after a restructuring plan was approved by creditors.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/going-out\/restaurants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">runs 70 restaurants<\/a> prior to the closures but said it has been knocked by \u201cdisproportionately high\u201d UK taxes and a lack of business rates relief for restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>The affected restaurants were \u201cno longer sustainable\u201d as a result.<\/p>\n<p>List of Franco Manca restaurants the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Most of these closures are to take place in May and June this year, with other dates confirmed through February 2027.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" replaced by banking hubs, allowing customers to use in-person services while significantly downsizing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/natwest\" target=\"_blank\" September 30 <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In February, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/lloyds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lloyds Banking Group,<\/a> which includes Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland confirmed that 95 branches would close across the UK. <\/p>\n<p>The  banking group will still have 610 branches remaining after the closures, but 53 Lloyds, 31 Halifax, and 11 Bank of Scotland sites will shut.<\/p>\n<p>The closures will all take place between May 2026 and March 2027 &#8211; with eight Lloyds and four Halifax branches in London shutting for Russell and Bromley <\/a>went into administration earlier this year, and while no store closures have yet been announced, there are closing down sales at a number of their locations. <\/p>\n<p>Next
