They picked the team based on <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/world-aquatics-unveils-brand-new-open-water-world-ranking-system\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the complex math formula<\/a> World Aquatics uses for World rankings.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" style=\"background: #FFF; border: 0; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: 0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width: 540px; min-width: 326px; padding: 0; width: calc(100% - 2px);\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DX7t37xjnQ7\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>All eight swimmers have been on international teams previously, and the rosters are headlined by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/bio\/mariah-denigan\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"Mariah Denigan Bio\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Mariah Denigan<\/strong><\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/bio\/ivan-puskovitch\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"Ivan Puskovitch Bio\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Ivan Puskovitch<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong> who swept the events at the 2026 Open Water National Championships in April<\/p>\n<p>Roster<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, Denigan and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/brinkleigh-hansen\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Brinkleigh Hansen\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brinkleigh Hansen<\/a><\/strong> will both reprise their roles from the 2025 World Championships in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>Denigan, 22, won all three senior events at the 2025 USA Swimming Open Water Nationals last month, and she was the highest finishing American swimmer at the 2026 World Cup in Ibiza in the 10k event. <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/brinkleigh-hansen\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Brinkleigh Hansen\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brinkleigh Hansen<\/a>, who is just 16-years-old, finished 2nd at Open Water Nationals in the 10k and was the 2nd highest American in Ibiza.<\/p>\n<p>At last year\u2019s World Championships, Denigan finished 14th and Hansen finished 24th in the 10k.<\/p>\n<p>The other two women\u2019s swimmers are making their returns to an international Team USA roster after multiple years of absence. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/bio\/ashley-twichell\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"Ashley Twichell Bio\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Ashley Twichell<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong> who is 36, last swam on an international team at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, where she swam the 1500 freestyle in the pool on top of the two open water events.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, she has had two babies, a son in May of 2022 and a daughter in May of 2025, just 12 months ago. At the Open Water Nationals last month, she finished 3rd behind Hansen and Denigan. In Ibiza, she was the 6th finishing American.<\/p>\n<p>Mann, 28, last made an international team in 2017, when she raced the 25k at the World Championships. She finished 4th at the Open Water Nationals last month and was the 3rd finishing American in the 10k at the World Cup in Ibiza.<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s roster has Puskovitch,<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/dylan-gravley\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Dylan Gravley\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dylan Gravley<\/a>, <\/strong>and<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/joey-tepper\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Joey Tepper\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joey Tepper<\/a> <\/strong>back from the World Championships team last year, all of whom swam individually in Singapore. Puskovitch only raced the 5k, finishing 20th. Gravley swam both the 5k and the 10k, finishing 22nd in the 10k and 17th in the 5k, and Tepper finished 12th in the 10k.<\/p>\n<p>Puskovitch, 25, won the 10k at Open Water Nationals and was the 2nd highest finishing American in the event in Ibiza.<\/p>\n<p>Gravley, 24, was 2nd in the 10k at Open Water Nationals and the highest finishing American in the 10k at the World Cup in Ibiza, and Tepper, 23, was 4th at Open Water Nationals and 3rd in Ibiza.<\/p>\n<p>The final member of the team is<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/swimswam.com\/tag\/joshua-brown\/\" class=\"auto-link-tag\" title=\"View more articles about Joshua Brown\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joshua Brown<\/a>,<\/strong> who is 23. Brown did not make the Worlds team in 2025, but he was a member of the 2024 World Championships team in Doha, where he swam the 5k, finishing 23rd overall.
