Roy Hodgson is expecting to return to London “fairly shortly” after his meeting with Charlie Boss, with Bristol City’s interim head coach confirming that he is set to meet with the Robins CEO today.<\/p>\n
Having been appointed on a short-term deal until the end of the season during the March international break, following the sacking of Gerhard Struber<\/a>, Hodgson was tasked with guiding the Reds through the final seven matches of the campaign.<\/p>\n The 78-year-old ended his return to the West Country on a positive note on Saturday. The interim boss will use the extra week to meet Boss, but is expecting to speak to City’s owner, Steve Lansdown, at a later date after he returns to the capital.<\/p>\n “No, I’m not leaving quickly,” the 78-year-old explained on Saturday afternoon. “I have a meeting on Tuesday with Charlie, who wants to sort of review the period of time that I’ve spent at the club.<\/p>\n “I’m pretty sure he’ll have some of the sort of questions that you’re talking about, and I will then go back to London at some stage after that; fairly shortly after that, probably, because Charlie has made it clear that he also wants me to meet Maggie and Steve Lansdown, who weren’t here today. Though he insists decisions of such magnitude will not be his to take, Hodgson is looking ahead with plenty of optimism.<\/p>\n “I see a bright future,” the interim head coach insisted when asked about what could be ahead in BS3. “But it’s not for me to decide what Bristol City<\/a> needs, because there you’re asking about players and recruitment. These are questions that I’m happy to leave to the sporting director and Charlie to find the man and develop a policy.<\/p>\n “Then, if someone comes to me and says, ‘Well, what was your opinion?’ of course, I’ll give it, but it risks being quite positive, because I’ve come in here at a fairly difficult time for the club and it’s gone pretty well. 11 points from seven games in this league is not bad.
