Amazon is taking center stage at this year\u2019s RTS London and will chair the bi-annual convention, with international chief Kelly Day set to keynote.<\/p>\n
Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios have been named principal sponsor of the storied event for the first time and Tara Erer, Head of Northern European Originals, will chair.<\/p>\n
More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n Joining Day in the first tranche of speakers is new Channel 4 CEO Priya Dogra, ITV boss Carolyn McCall and Reemah Sakaan, who has just taken over at Paramount UK network 5 (previously Channel 5).<\/p>\n Titled\u00a0United in Change: If Not Now, When?, the convention will focus on the need for collaboration and decisive action across the media and television industry.<\/p>\n Jane Turton, Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Royal Television Society (RTS), said: \u201cTo succeed in television we need to adapt, to adjust and always to remain responsive and agile.\u00a0Sometimes leading an audience towards a new piece of IP or talent and sometimes responding to an audience\u2019s changing demands.\u00a0The theme of this year\u2019s RTS London Convention,\u00a0United in Change: If Not Now, When?\u00a0reflects the pace of transformation across our sector and that fact that we are all working together in the face of many changes to shape a successful television sector of the future.\u201d<\/p>\n Erer added: \u201cChairing RTS London this year feels like a genuine privilege and a true responsibility. United in Change isn\u2019t just a theme, it\u2019s a challenge. Our industry is at an inflection point, and this Convention is our moment to be loud, brave and unapologetically ambitious about the future we want to build together for our extraordinary industry. As Prime Video continues to cement\u00a0its\u00a0place at the heart of the UK industry, there couldn\u2019t be a better moment to be a steward for the change we all want to see.\u201d<\/p>\n The fest takes place September 29.
