British comedian Matt Berry is voicing Bane in TT Games’ upcoming release, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, and it sounds like he will be bringing an especially mischievous twist to the iconic DC villain.<\/p>\n
Berry is known to many as the IT Crowd’s bombastic and rather inappropriate boss, as well as What We Do In The Shadows’ vampire Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth. More recently, the actor also starred in Amazon’s acclaimed Fallout TV adaptation, where he voiced Mr. Handy\/Snip Snip.<\/p>\n

Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/p>\n Talking to Eurogamer at a recent preview event for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, executive producer Matt Ellison spoke about working with Berry, calling the experience “really cool” and the actor himself “excellent”.<\/p>\n “It was good fun being in the session with [Berry],” Ellison told me when I said I recognised Bane’s in-game voice immediately. “There are lots of fun ‘Bane bits’ that we have in the game,” he continued, mentioning prank calls the villain makes to Batman in the Batcave as a particular highlight.<\/p>\n Berry’s voice “works really well as Bane”, Ellison continued, confirming that the actor was very skillful when it came to improvising and embracing his character’s wicked but still humorous side in the voice over booth. A large proportion of What We Do in the Shadows is improvised, so Berry has had plenty of experience in this art. “It was really good fun to have him,” Ellison said in closing.<\/p>\n Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is the latest and most thorough brickified retelling of Bruce Wayne’s story. It is due to release later this month, on 22nd May, across PS5<\/a>, Xbox Series X\/S<\/a> and PC (Steam<\/a>, Epic<\/a>). It will also come to Switch 2<\/a> at a later date.<\/p>\n
