President Donald Trump<\/a> has spoken out on several occasions about his rather unconventional diet. The 47th President loves fast food, especially McDonald’s<\/a>, and claims that it, along with his “one minute a day” of exercise keeps him healthy.<\/p>\n

Trump, 79, reportedly eats an overcooked steak for lunch, and an extra-large meal from McDonald’s for dinner that includes two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, two Big Macs, and one chocolate milkshake.<\/p>\n

Additionally, it’s reported that the president drinks up to 12 Diet Cokes a day. According to the Nutrition Calculator on the McDonald’s<\/a> website, Trump’s meal of choice tallies up to 2,430 calories<\/strong> and 111 grams of fat, which is above the daily recommended caloric intake for adults.<\/p>\n

For years, this has been his diet. In 2024, the Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters<\/strong> recalled being shocked by how much Trump ate on the campaign trail. “[He had] hot fries waiting for him from McDonald’s,” Joe said. “Then he had a Filet-O-Fish, a Quarter Pounder and a Big Mac.”<\/p>\n

Trump’s fast-food focused diet is a major cause of concern, considering his age and health indicators. In January 2026, The Wall Street Journal<\/a> released an expos\u00e9 on the signs of his aging, detailing how he routinely falls asleep during meetings and the many bruises popping up on his hands.<\/p>\n

Regardless of the massive calories in his preferred McDonald’s meal and his many health concerns, Trump claims he is in “perfect health.” On Tuesday, May 5, the president discussed his physical fitness while signing the proclamation celebrating National Physical Fitness and Sports Month.<\/p>\n

“I work out so much,” Trump said, adding: “Like about one minute a day, max, if I’m lucky<\/strong>.” He told the group of children and professional athletes gathered in the Oval Office: “These next few years will be a golden age of athletics.”<\/p>\n

According to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, the average adult should get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity a week and aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity every day. So, Trump’s “one minute a day” is definitely not enough.<\/p>\n

But, the president seems convinced of his health. During his meeting celebrating National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, the Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr<\/a>. claimed: “There’s a lot of people [in the Cabinet] who could probably do a 50-mile hike.”<\/p>\n

When he didn’t mention Trump as one of those people, the president chimed in: “What about me? You didn’t mention my name.”<\/p>\n
