Australian delegation received funding from the Australian Government for their Eurovision Song Contest 2026 performance.<\/p>\n
As reported in the media release issued by Honourable Tony Burke MP, Minister for the Arts, the Australian delegation received financial support from the Australian Government for their performance in Vienna. The aid was provided through the International Cultural Diplomacy Arts Fund (ICDAF). This programme supports arts and cultural initiatives that promote Australia internationally through cultural exchange, performance, exhibitions, festivals, collaboration and creative partnerships.<\/p>\n
The programme, launched in 2015, aims to expand Australia\u2019s cultural presence abroad, strengthen international cultural ties, support the country\u2019s global arts commitments, and highlight Australian artists and creative industries on the international stage. The Eurovision Song Contest aligns with several of the ICDAF\u2019s obectives, allowing the government to support Australian artists, as further explained by Honourable Tony Burke MP.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cEurovision uses geo-blocking to prevent anyone from voting in their own country for their own artist, but that doesn\u2019t mean we can\u2019t help. Any Australian who\u2019s travelling or has the phone number of anyone else in any other country, you know what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The same initiative has also backed previous Australian Eurovision representatives, including Electric Fields in 2024 and Go-Jo in 2025. Eariler, in 2023, Voyager obtained support from the WA Government via the Contemporary Music Fund and Tourism WA.<\/p>\n
Australia will compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 on 14 May.<\/p>\n
