Battered Blues are there for the taking<\/strong><\/p>\n Before the loss at Old Trafford, Liverpool had strung together a nice chain of league wins: a tidy two-nil against Fulham, a dramatic derby triumph<\/a> against Everton, and a comfortable victory against Crystal Palace.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Chelsea, on the other hand, have been in utter disarray. You\u2019d have to look back to the beginning of March for the last time they won in the league, and since then, they have lost six straight league matches. <\/p>\n If they lose at Anfield, it will be the first time they\u2019ve lost seven in a row since 1952 \u2014 and only the second time they\u2019ve hit such a slump in their history<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Stamford Bridge club is now on its third manager of the season after sacking Liam Rosenior in April. Calum McFarlane, who is Rosenior\u2019s former assistant, will be in the dugout for his third match as interim head coach. After losing 3-1 to relegation battlers Nottingham Forest in the last outing, he will have his work cut out for him here.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Blues will also have one eye on their upcoming FA Cup final vs. Man City \u2014 no prizes for guessing who the bookies’ favorites are to lift the cup, but hey, anything can happen in a final.\u00a0<\/p>\n Saturday’s match is the perfect opportunity for Arne Slot\u2019s men to get a statement win against a big side and set themselves up for a positive end to an underwhelming season.<\/p>\n The Anfield faithful needs this<\/strong><\/p>\n Liverpool were far from their best at Old Trafford. They only came back from 2-0 down due to a catalog of errors from their opponents, and it looked like Slot\u2019s men might head back to Merseyside with at least a point despite being poor for most of the game. A gut-punch of a goal from Kobbie Mainoo killed that fantasy.<\/p>\n In an underwhelming season, this defeat would have been particularly hard on the fans since it meant Man Utd completed the double over Liverpool for the first time in over a decade. <\/p>\n
