One of the most popular running events in the region, The Great Bristol Run returns this month with thousands expected to take on the challenge and run the iconic ‘super-scenic’ route through the city.<\/p>\n
Known these days as the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run, the event<\/a> features a 10K and half marathon, both of which are sold out this year. Both events will take place on Sunday, May 10.<\/p>\n We’ve compiled a list of key information – from when and where it’s all happening, to how it will affect motorists due to road closures. Here’s all you need to know…<\/p>\n When is The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run 2026?<\/p>\n The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run<\/a> – the 10K and half marathon – takes place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, and participants will need to make their way to the start and assembly areas on Anchor Road and Canons Way.<\/p>\n According to the official event guide for this year published on the website<\/a>, start timings will be staggered as follows:<\/p>\n (Image: PAUL GILLIS \/ Reach PLC)<\/p>\n The event site and Information Point will close at 2.30pm.<\/p>\n Your wave colour and start time can be found on your run number, which should arrive in the post around two weeks before the event.<\/p>\n Once you’ve received it, you have everything you need for event day and you don’t need to visit the Information Point to register on the day.<\/p>\n You attach your run number, which has your timing chip attached, to the front of your running top with safety pins and head to the start line.<\/p>\n Can I still enter?<\/p>\n The Great Bristol Run is now sold out. Packs are sorted by size, so runners should ensure they take the T-shirt size they requested on their entry form.
