THIS is the terrifying moment an Edinburgh<\/a> fairground ride spun out of control – with three children inside.<\/p>\n

Kevin McNulty said his kids were “very lucky” to still be walking after the ‘unthinkable’ happened while they were on the Waltzers at Galactic Carnival Festival in Wester Hailes, on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The ride at Galactic Carnival Festival in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh, is currently closed<\/p>\n

The dad was in the car behind his three kids – aged 13, 12, and seven – when it ‘came completely off’ and went ‘flying’ into the waltzer he was in.<\/p>\n

The whole ordeal – which happened around 7pm – was filmed by one of the youngsters, who are all heard screaming in terror.<\/p>\n

Kevin said that the car ‘smashed about before coming off the track’, and described the ordeal as ‘something you see in the movies’.<\/p>\n

In a Facebook <\/a>post, dad Kevin said: “Last night we were at these shows at Westerhailes Plaza, my three kids were on the Waltzers with myself and Brooke in car behind.<\/p>\n

“Then the unthinkable happened. Going FULL PELT (not slowing down) their car came completely off and then went flying into our car.<\/p>\n

” It then smashed about the place crashing into the side off the track, thankfully there was a heavy large speaker that they collided with or they would have been\u00a0through the whole thing and then the ending would have been a completely different story ( a thought I can’t stop thinking about).<\/p>\n

“The shows continued to go (not the Waltzers) but place should have been shut down for a full inspection. <\/p>\n

“It was like something you see in the movies and my kids are very very lucky that they managed to get out of this still walking.”<\/p>\n

A source at the carnival last night said the ride was closed due to an \u201cincident\u201d on Saturday night.
\u00a0They added: \u201cIt was very lucky that no one was seriously hurt. The waltzer car came loose and it flew off the ride.<\/p>\n

\u201cThankfully it hit the speaker and the crash barrier otherwise who knows what would have happened. The young girls were very shaken up by it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has now been closed as it will need to be investigated. <\/p>\n

“These things are taken seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

The organiser and Edinburgh City Council have been approached for comment.<\/p>\n
