Classically trained as a dancer \u2013 \u2018I consider myself more a dancer than anything else\u2019, she told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/film\/2020\/apr\/13\/goldie-hawn-i-was-born-with-a-high-set-point-for-happiness\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/film\/2020\/apr\/13\/goldie-hawn-i-was-born-with-a-high-set-point-for-happiness\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"The Guardian\" data-node-id=\"3.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"noopener\">The Guardian<\/a> \u2013 she\u2019s always been passionate about movement and wellbeing, and in the early 2000s, launched MindUp, an initiative designed to bring mindfulness into schools. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Goldie regularly posts snippets on social media of how she incorporates mindfulness into her own routine, which is often through exercise. That surface changes the ground reaction forces compared to hard-floor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a64270262\/jump-training-over-50\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a64270262\/jump-training-over-50\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"jumping\" data-node-id=\"18.5\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"noopener\">jumping<\/a>, reducing joint impact while still exposing the body to acceleration and deceleration forces,\u2019 physiotherapist, strength coach and founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/movewell.club\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/movewell.club\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Move Well Gym\" data-node-id=\"18.7\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"noopener\">Move Well Gym<\/a>, Kim Johnson previously told WH. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"23\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">She added that it\u2019s an effective exercise for women, particularly as they age, due to its positive effective on bone density. \u2018Bone responds to load, specifically to rapid changes in load. Small jumps, hops and accelerations stimulate osteoblast [the cell responsible for bone formation and mineralisation] activity and help maintain bone mineral density.\u2019<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"27\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Then there\u2019s the cardiovascular and coordination benefits of rebounding, as it \u2018can elevate heart rate quickly, and challenge coordination, reactive stability and neuromuscular [how the nervous system and muscles communicate] timing, which, as we age, become important for fall prevention and maintaining athleticism\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-node-id=\"29.0\">Walking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"33\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Walking is also an integral part of Goldie\u2019s routine. In fact, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/CkGYLuZg40k\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/CkGYLuZg40k\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"video\" data-node-id=\"33.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a> posted a few years ago, she said it\u2019s \u2018the most important thing you can possibly do\u2019.
