This is a pre-bookable service, for anybody who would like to have their goat looked after whilst they enjoy their night out.

Given the venue’s location within the City of London, which still to this day permits Freemen of the city to walk over London Bridge into the City with their livestock, including goats, the venue wanted to acknowledge this historical right and make the necessary accommodations for anyone who is able to do so.

img-c6125365-a5ec-4b54-bac6-eb2812786380

Despite being inspired by the local regulations, new research has revealed that a surprising number of Brits are indeed looking to take random things out on their nights out, including animals.

The new research reveals that 10% of Brits have tried, or successfully taken an animal on a night out, with a further 2% actually admitting that they have attempted to check in an animal or pet at a coat check. This behaviour is most prevalent in 35–44-year-olds who have tried this the most at 15%.

The findings highlight a wider trend of unusual coat check requests. According to the data, Brits have attempted to leave a range of unexpected items, including:

Shopping bags (11%)
Birthday cakes (3%)
Takeaway food (2%)
Animals or pets (2%)
Something illegal (1%)
Sex toys (1%)

The research also points to the role of animals as a source of personal luck. 7% of Brits identify their pet or animal as their lucky charm – which could come in handy when playing against your friends at The Lucky Goat.

Brits are citing other sources of luck too, with 7% relying on a specific song, most commonly, 16% of 18–24-year-olds. So be sure to check yourself into the karaoke booths at the venue too.

Paul Delfgou, CEO at The Lucky Goat said,

“Turns out one in ten Brits have tried to take animals with them on a night out, and some have even attempted to check them in at the coat check, so there’s clearly an appetite for bringing animals into social spaces. At the same time, 7% of people say their animal is their lucky charm. GOAT Check was developed as a response to those behaviours, giving a nod to the idea that your ‘greatest of all time’ companion could become a part of your night out.”

The venue has opened in London this week, aiming to provide a social environment centred around shared experiences and interactive entertainment.
