It’s been 30 years since Magnolia Bakery first opened in New York. It was catapulted to fame after appearing in Sex and the City a few years later and is still something of a pilgrimage for anyone visiting New York for the first time. But now you don’t even have to do that, as the bakery is coming to London – kind of.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As the Chelsea Flower Show kicks off, the courtyard of The OWO is to be festooned with flowers and its courtyard spot Cafe Ciel is taking the opportunity for a Magnolia Bakery team-up. They’ll have a special kiosk in the courtyard where they’ll be selling Magnolia’s classic banana pudding, as well as their take on a sticky toffee pudding. Working with Cafe Ciel, they’ll also have an iced matcha version of the banana pudding and even an iced coffee that’s topped with the pudding.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
If you go into Cafe Ciel itself, there will also be a few Magnolia Bakery-inspired dishes, like a banoffee French toast, American pancakes and an NYC bagel.\u00a0<\/p>\n
There will, however, not be any cupcakes. You’ll still have to go to New York for those (unless they decide to open a proper outpost here).\u00a0<\/p>\n
