{"id":946734,"date":"2026-05-08T19:34:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T19:34:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/946734\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T19:34:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T19:34:17","slug":"election-2026-the-south-west-birmingham-seats-so-far-the-bromsgrove-standard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/946734\/","title":{"rendered":"ELECTION 2026 &#8211; The south west Birmingham seats so far The Bromsgrove Standard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t\tAS WE reach the final third of seats to be declared, here is a running total of how many each party has.<\/p>\n<p>We have had a late flurry for the Green Party with its members taking six seats in quick succession \u2013 Brandwood and Kings Heath, Hall Green North and Billesley.<\/p>\n<p>96 \/ 101 seats<\/p>\n<p>Reform UK \u2013 21<\/p>\n<p>Green Party \u2013 18<\/p>\n<p>Conservative \u2013 16<\/p>\n<p>Labour \u2013 15<\/p>\n<p>Independents \u2013 13<\/p>\n<p>Liberal Democrats \u2013 12<\/p>\n<p>Labour and Co-operative Party \u2013 1<\/p>\n<p>It is now impossible for any one party to reach the 51 needed for a majority so Birmingham City Council will have No Overall Control.<\/p>\n<p>But who will be the biggest party is still to be decided with five seats yet to be decided.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>South West Birmingham seats<br \/>\nThe seats in the south west of the city have all gone to reform so far \u2013<br \/>\nLongbridge and West Heath \u2013 Reform UK GAIN TWO<\/p>\n<p>In Longbridge and West Heath, Reform UK have finished first and second \u2013 Charles Latchford polled 2,325 and his Reform UK co-candidate Anthony Ward achieved 2,168.<\/p>\n<p>Northfield \u2013 Reform UK GAIN<\/p>\n<p>The Northfield seat has been taken by George Hall from Reform UK. He earned 1,317 votes. We are still awaiting confirmation of the other vote amounts.<\/p>\n<p>Allens Cross \u2013 Reform UK GAIN<\/p>\n<p>Eddie Freeman (Reform UK) polled 949 votes, almost 300 more than Paul Smith (Independent) who finished second.<\/p>\n<p>In third place was Labour\u2019s Seb Lovell-Huckle. The Green Party\u2019s Daniel Rust finished fourth. with the Conservatives fifth and Lib Dems in sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Rubery and Rednal \u2013 Reform UK GAIN<\/p>\n<p>In Rubery and Rednal, Reform UK\u2019s Rebecca Waters polled 943 and edged out long-term Conservative Adrian Delaney who finished on 852. The victory, by less than 100 votes, saw the Green Party finished third with Billy Wassell on 333, Labour\u2019s Steve Haynes in fourth on 271 and the Lib Dems in fifth with Paul Alton on 119.<\/p>\n<p>Frankley Great Park \u2013 Reform UK GAIN<\/p>\n<p>Gemma Guttridge from Reform UK has taken Frankley Great Park with 1,192 votes.
