Mousinho as leading contenders to become their next manager, <strong>sources have told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Roy Hodgson took over from Gerhard Struber on an interim basis and guided the Robins to a 12th placed finish before leaving his role for the next permanent boss to step in.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the Robins are eyeing both Skubala and Mousinho as the two front-runners for the position as they ramp up efforts to land Hodgson\u2019s replacement.<\/p>\n<p>Skubala is seen as a leading candidate given the success he has had in guiding Lincoln to the League One title and promotion to the Championship with 103 points.<\/p>\n<p>Mousinho, meanwhile, has enjoyed a strong season with Portsmouth but growing tensions behind the scenes could see him tempted to jump of the month for April, his fourth award of the season, highlighting the job he has done winning promotion for Lincoln.<\/p>\n<p>Mousinho, meanwhile, led his Portsmouth side to safety in the Championship with an 18th-placed finish and is very highly-rated for his work at Fratton Park.<\/p>\n<p>He is believed to have been left frustrated by a lack of investment and could leave rather than endure another relegation battle, with the Robins on alert over his situation.<\/p>\n<p>Who else is in the running for the Bristol City job?<\/p>\n<p>Despite their strong admiration of Skubala and Mousinho, Bristol City are assessing a number of candidates as they aim to get their next managerial appointment right.<\/p>\n<p>Hodgson\u2019s interim stay gave them time to stabilise and assess City<\/a> and is believed to be among the leading contenders for the role.<\/p>\n<p>His last stint in management came in Saudi Arabia will Al-Ettifaq, and now that he is clear of any tax-related roadblocks, he is eyeing a return to England.<\/p>\n<p>Recent reports have seen Burnley distance themselves from the former Rangers boss, potentially opening the door for Bristol City to
