Steven Knight<\/a>\u2019s upcoming \u201clandmark\u201d documentary on the\u00a0Oasis<\/a> reunion tour is set to stream on Disney+<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peaky Blinders<\/a>\u00a0creator\u00a0has overseen and is\u00a0producing the film, which will document the Britpop giants\u2019 return as\u00a0they embarked on their huge Live \u201825 reunion tour<\/a>. It will be directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelance, known for the LCD Soundsystem<\/a>\u00a0doc\u00a0Shut Up\u00a0And\u00a0Play\u00a0The\u00a0Hits.<\/p>\n

Now, it has been revealed that the as-yet-untitled film will be released into cinemas, including IMAX screens, worldwide for a limited theatrical run from September 11, while it will stream on Disney+ around the world, and on Disney+ alongside Hulu in the US, from a later date in 2026.<\/p>\n

It will chart\u00a0Noel<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Liam Gallagher<\/a>\u2019s return to the frontline, including exclusive footage of rehearsals, backstage insights, onstage access and the first joint interviews with the two brothers in over 25 years. It will also reflect on the impact of the enormous tour and how Oasis\u2019 music has impacted audiences across the generations.<\/p>\n

Knight has said:\u00a0\u201cI genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film.\u00a0I believe it\u00a0captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people.\u00a0I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever. It is also the story of how music and songwriting can unite generations, cultures, countries and in a time of spite and division, give us all some reason to hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to reports,\u00a0the project will contain some \u201cphenomenal\u201d footage of Liam and Noel Gallagher\u2019s first meeting ahead of their comeback shows<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Knight hinted earlier this year that his cut of the movie at the time was still four hours long<\/a>, stressing that \u201cwe\u2019ve\u00a0gotta\u00a0get it down\u201d,\u00a0adding: \u201cBut\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a documentary with a plot, do you know what I mean?\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0actually got a story. And then\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0expanded it\u2026you\u2019ll\u00a0see when you see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noel Gallagher recently spoke about the documentary<\/a>, too, saying: \u201cI\u2019ve\u00a0only seen a tiny little bit of it and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0difficult to have an opinion on it because\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0only looking at little snippets.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In February,\u00a0Noel revealed he was back in the recording studio<\/a>. However, it is currently not known whether this was for new Oasis music or something else.\u00a0The musician had said earlier that he was \u201cback at work\u201d<\/a>\u00a0following his Christmas break.<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0gave the opening night of Live \u201925 in Cardiff a glowing five-star review<\/a>. \u201cAfter a \u201890s heyday and an\u00a0often maligned\u00a0post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century,\u201d it read. \u201cPlaying before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.\u201d<\/p>\n
