According to the NHS website, it spreads through faeces and can be contracted through:

close contact with someone with norovirus

touching surfaces or objects that have the virus on them, then touching your mouth

eating food that’s been prepared or handled by someone with norovirus

drinking unclean water or infected food

Symptoms usually start suddenly and may include:

People who are infected may also get:

a high temperature

a headache

tummy pain

body aches and pains

And while it can be very unpleasant, it usually gets better in about two days, the health service says.

It comes as more than 140 passengers and crew members remain on board a hantavirus-stricken cruise vessel heading for the Canary Islands.

The MV Hondius, operated by Oceanwide Expeditions, is expected to arrive at the Spanish island of Tenerife early on Sunday. At least three passengers have died following the outbreak, and several other people have been infected.

Hantavirus is usually spread through inhaling particles contaminated by rodent droppings and unlike Norovirus is not easily transmitted between people. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said the risk to the wider public remains low.

More than 100 people are unwell after norovirus ripped through a cruise ship. 102 passengers and 13 crew…

[11
264480,264483,45778,264482,577,105,22039,264481,45781,43150,16,15,659
0":"post-947948","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-health","8":"tag-caribbean-princess","9":"tag-cdc-investigation","10":"tag-cruise-news","11":"tag-cruise-ship-illness","12":"tag-florida","13":"tag-health","14":"tag-norovirus","15":"tag-norovirus-outbreak","16":"tag-princess-cruises","17":"tag-travel-news-section","18":"tag-uk","19":"tag-united-kingdom","20":"tag-usa
["GET
