\n\tShawn Levy<\/a> is set to direct the original sci-fi movie \u201cSomewhere Out There\u201d for Netflix.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe streamer picked up the spec script written by Max Taxe in a bidding war. Levy will also produce the film under his 21 Laps banner along with the company\u2019s Dan Levine.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe story falls in the emotional vein of \u201cArrival\u201d and \u201cThe Adam Project,\u201d and concerns a grieving father who, after losing his wife, sends a message out into the stars\u2026and something out there starts to talk back.<\/p>\n

\n\tLevy<\/a>\u00a0has recently wrapped production on \u201cStar Wars: Starfighter<\/a>\u201d starring Ryan Gosling, Amy Adams, Matt Smith, Mia Goth and Aaron Pierre. The film will hit theaters on May 28, 2027.<\/p>\n

\n\tLevy\u2019s projects have included \u201cStranger Things\u201d and \u201cAll the Light We Cannot See.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Levy-directed film \u201cDeadpool & Wolverine\u201d generated $1.086 billion<\/a> at the global box office and is the highest grossing R-rated movie in history.<\/p>\n

Taxe teamed with 21 Laps previously on his screenplay \u201cRipple,\u201d in which Jack Quaid is attached to star. His credits also include \u201cMoonshot,\u201d which starred Lana Condor and Cole Sprouse for HBO Max.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t21 Laps is about to wrap production on both the Netflix comedy \u201cOne Attempt Remaining,\u201d directed by Kay Cannon and starring Jennifer Garner and John Cena, as well as on Netflix\u2019s untitled hockey series starring Michelle Monaghan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tLevy and 21 Laps are repped by WME and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Taxe is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360 and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.\u00a0<\/p>\n
