Michael Payne, MP for Gedling, confirmed the incident was
\nnot suspected to be terror-related and added there was not currently any
\nconcern about a wider risk to the public.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the BBC at the scene, he added: \u201cWe\u2019re a tight-knit community in Arnold. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been my home my entire life. I live in Arnold and
\nwe\u2019ll respond in the usual way as a community and will support the police in
\nthe important work they\u2019re doing. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy best wishes go to the individuals who\u2019ve been hurt in
\nthe incident and I seriously hope that the said individual who\u2019s got life-threatening
\ninjuries makes a recovery. My thoughts are with them and their family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Payne attended the scene alongside Gedling Borough Council
\nleader John Clarke.<\/p>\n

Clarke has called for barriers along the road, adding that the
\nborough council had called for the road to be blocked off to traffic.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThere need to be barriers, there needs to be
\nprevention, and we need to look at it seriously to make people feel safe, to
