A major emergency response was launched in Edinburgh<\/a> this morning after concerns were raised for a person in the Water of Leith area.<\/p>\n

Police<\/a>, paramedics and fire crews were called to Lanark Road shortly after 10am on Saturday, with multiple emergency vehicles seen lining the busy route.<\/p>\n

Officers<\/a> taped off the entrance to Knockhillbraehead near the Water of Leith walkway as the incident unfolded, while crews remained in attendance at the scene.<\/p>\n

Images from the area showed a significant emergency presence, including police positioned at the path entrance. Despite the scale of the response, the road itself has not been closed to traffic.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland confirmed they were called out at around 10am following a report of concern for a man in the Water of Leith walkway area.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: \u201cAround 10am on Saturday, 9 May, 2026, we were called to a report of concern for a man at the Water of Leith walkway. Officers are in attendance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also attended after being alerted at 10.04am, dispatching two appliances to assist at the scene.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews remained on site late into the morning as enquiries continued.<\/p>\n
