\n Carmel, who has spent the past 13 years at Forest Holme Hospice, has worked in the NHS for more than three decades and has left a lasting impression on countless patients, families, and colleagues.\n<\/p>\n
\n At the hospice, she became known by colleagues as the \u201cPocket Rocket,\u201d and was described as bringing warmth, strength, and reassurance during some of life\u2019s most challenging times.\n<\/p>\n

\n One family said: “We will be forever grateful for the care and compassion she showed us.\u2019\n<\/p>\n
\n Another family said:\u00a0\u201cShe left a mark on my heart and my soul with her kindness and going the extra mile\n<\/p>\n
\n “Nothing was ever too much.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Her colleagues also spoke of her positive influence on the team.\n<\/p>\n
\n One message said: “You always had a smile on your face even when times were tough and treated patients and colleagues with compassion and kindness.”\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson for Forest Holme Hospice said: “Carmel represents everything that hospice care stands for.\n<\/p>\n
\n “She has given so much of herself to others over the years, and the difference she has made is immeasurable.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It has been a privilege to have her as part of our team, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to shape the care we provide.\n<\/p>\n
\n “As she begins this next chapter, the hospice extends its thanks and warmest wishes for a happy retirement.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
