The Great Bristol Run roars to life today as thousands of runners prepare to limber up for the city spectacle.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll bring you all of the action from the occasion in our live blog below.<\/p>\n

The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run features two separate running routes: a 10k and a half-marathon. Both races have staggered start times, with the first wave of runners setting off from start points at Anchor Road and Canons Way, beginning from 8.20am.<\/p>\n

Roads across the city will be closed throughout the day, with some closures starting from as early as 2am on Sunday morning. All affected roads are scheduled to reopen by 6pm.<\/p>\n

Runners are expected to face mild weather, which will likely come as some relief, with highs of 15C forecast by 1pm, and overcast, but not wet, conditions expected.<\/p>\n

The weather is looking promising across Bristol today with sunny intervals expected and a less than five per cent chance of rain. Highs of 15C are anticipated with up to 13mph winds, according to the Met Office.<\/p>\n
